There is a treatment for Agoraphobia symptoms which creates fast and permanent results, but why has modern medicine been unable to find a cure for a condition which affects tens of millions of people around the world? – the answer is simple – DRUGS CAN’T TOUCH IT!

What do I mean?

Agoraphobia and the symptoms it produces are caused 100% by an underlying anxiety condition which fuels the ‘what if’ thoughts which cause agoraphobia.

These thoughts, which are stored as neural pathways of learning in the brain, cannot be selectively manipulated or erased using medication and conventional psychotherapy just doesn’t do the job. Medications can never be developed which ‘pin-point’ the exact neural pathways responsible for Agoraphobia symptoms, erasing them without touching, damaging or interfering with other surrounding brain tissue. Psychotherapy is just so way off the mark, it doesn’t deserve a mention!

The flight or fight response produces a series of ‘what if’ thoughts as a risk analysis when a real threat is present, but in anxiety conditions, there is no REAL threat present so the ‘what if’ thoughts apply the same risk assessment to other things in the sufferer’s environment. This can cause obsessions and also obsessive compulsive disorder to develop if the thoughts are allowed to propagate and mutate into advanced ‘safety seeking’ behaviors. But in agoraphobia, the safety seeking tends to surround localized activities, places and people. Agoraphobics often find it difficult to move around without being accompanied by a trusted companion or without going to places they know and trust, where an escape is available should they panic.

Agoraphobia sufferers often look out for doors, escape routes, ambulance access and other focuses which reinforce the safety seeking behaviors. Many agoraphobics know that their behaviors and thoughts are inappropriate, but they don’t know how to bring their high anxiety levels under control without using their coping mechanisms.

Agoraphobics usually develop their fear of geographic movement as a result of having experienced high anxiety or panic disorder whilst away from a person or place of safety and it is this which brings their subconscious minds to the conclusion that distance = anxiety.

So, if a treatment for agoraphobia symptoms and anxiety is to be curative, what must it do to the subconscious mind in order to eliminate these inappropriate responses?

Agoraphobia symptoms can be simply erased using a structured and seamless process which ‘re-sets’ the inappropriate anxiety response back down to normal. Not only does this eliminate the core anxiety, but it erases the safety seeking behaviors which cause and perpetuate the agoraphobia completely.

Is this cure available? A treatment for agoraphobia symptoms, panic disorder and all of the associated sensations and thoughts is available and it’s simple, fast and permanent. It addresses the core of the anxiety condition, removes the learning that has taken place to create the agoraphobia symptoms and replaces it with non-anxious, appropriate behaviors.

Panic disorder with agoraphobia is more common than you would perhaps expect, affecting around 20% of the world population within their lifetimes.

But what is Agoraphobia and what causes it? Agoraphobia is traditionally described as ‘the fear of open spaces’ but any sufferer will tell you that this definition is flawed. Agoraphobia sufferers experience intrusive, safety seeking behaviors which restrict their geographic movements, often making them, seemingly, housebound. But why do they suddenly become so scared to move around freely, when previously they were able to do anything and go anywhere?

Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia are both anxiety symptoms, not stand alone conditions. Why? Because neither condition can exist without underlying high anxiety caused by a shift in the way the anxiety control centre in the brain manages the anxiety response.

The anxiety response can be adapted to be appropriate to a person’s environment; it has to be, as we move from safe to unsafe environments, our bodies have to prepare themselves for action under threat. But in panic disorder and agoraphobia, this control centre has been disrupted (by a stress factor such as work issues, bereavement, money issues etc.) and it believes that this higher level of anxiety is appropriate, despite us KNOWING consciously that it is not, it acts on its belief and produces anxiety responses. Because this high anxiety is often experienced when away from people or places of safety, agoraphobics learn that HOME=SAFETY. When they then attempt to move out of their safety zone, they experience panic disorder and agoraphobia.

Many Agoraphobia sufferers don’t experience panic disorder and some experience high levels of anxiety, OCD or other phobias.

But, what is the solution? Any curative treatment must address the root cause of the panic disorder with agoraphobia in a structured process of re-learning in order to ‘fool’ the subconscious mind into believing it is safe again – allowing it to use its own natural process of ‘adapting to the environment’ to reset itself back down to a ‘normal’, appropriate level of anxiety.

This sounds difficult, but the speed and permanence of this process and cure are breathtaking, when you do it correctly. For years, medics, psychologists and psycho-pharmacologists have tried to create processes and drugs which address the deep-rooted behaviors in the anxiety control centre which cause panic disorder with agoraphobia with very little success, providing only superficial fixes and anxiety management techniques. But a curative solution does exist and it has been used by many thousands of sufferers of panic disorder with agoraphobia with permanent success.

Anxiety, agoraphobia, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder and all of the symptoms these conditions cause can be quickly and permanently eliminated using a targeted and structured agoraphobia treatment. Agoraphobia is commonly understood to be a stand alone anxiety condition but it is not; agoraphobia is actually a symptom of an underlying anxiety disorder.

Historically, agoraphobia is treated using either medication or psychotherapy or a combination of both. However neither of these treatments are appropriate because neither address the root cause of the condition. In order for agoraphobia to be cured, it is vital that the anxiety control centre in the brain is addressed directly. This cannot be done through superficial drug or psychotherapeutic treatment, which does not reach the area of the brain responsible for the anxiety response.

The anxiety control centre in the brain is programmed through behavior and emotion, and drugs cannot select the neural pathways of learning which are responsible for the anxiety response and eliminate them with accuracy in order to eliminate agoraphobia completely; similarly psychotherapeutic treatments do not go deep enough into the subconscious mind to reprogram the anxiety response.

Anxiety, agoraphobia, panic attacks and OCD are all symptoms of an underlying anxiety disorder, therefore if you remove the core anxiety condition these symptoms will disappear.

Agoraphobia is created when the anxiety response often called the ‘flight or fight’ response, produces ‘what if’ thoughts which developed in humans to produce a ‘risk analysis’ in situations where real threat is present; but in anxiety disorders there is no real threat present, so the ‘what if’ thoughts focus on other things in the sufferers environment; sometimes this can produce inappropriate thoughts and in agoraphobia it produces thoughts concerning the sufferer’s geographic location, their proximity to people or places of safety and other safety seeking, reassurance behaviors.

An effective anxiety agoraphobia or panic attacks treatment, which eliminates the anxiety response and therefore removes the ‘what if’ thought processes which cause and perpetuated agoraphobia, is entirely possible but must follow a strict curative roadmap.

Being agoraphobia free is actually already pre-programmed into you… you just need to learn to ‘flick the switch back to ‘agoraphobia OFF’.

Anxiety agoraphobia and panic – pointless conditions with a definitive solution.

Agoraphobia manifests itself in sufferers in a number of ways but most commonly as:

• The fear of being away from a trusted person

• The fear of traveling away from a place of perceived safety

• A fear of being alone – this can be at home or away

• A fear of driving or traveling alone

Agoraphobia treatments are generally provided through the medical profession as either medication and/or psychotherapy. The most common psychotherapy used is CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Before discussing conventional agoraphobia treatments and their lack of success at providing a curative solution, you need to know how Agoraphobia develops.

Agoraphobia is an anxiety condition and not a stand-alone disorder as is commonly believed. Agoraphobia cannot exist without an underlying anxiety condition which elevates the base-mark anxiety level. High anxiety fuels Agoraphobia by providing the mind with a cue to perform ‘risk assessments’ in order to quickly make decisions about what course of action to take when confronted by a real danger. In anxiety disorder, there is no real danger present.

These ‘what if’ thoughts present you with a risk assessment based on data sent to the brain by the sensory organs, the ears, eyes, nose, mouth and skin. If there is no ‘real’ danger present these thoughts can focus on creating danger where no real danger is present.

Coupled with growing concerns about the physical symptoms that most people experience, it doesn’t take long for an anxiety sufferer to start restricting their geographic movements in order to attempt to control their anxiety.

Of course, the more someone practices this avoidance behaviour, the more ingrained that behaviour becomes and the ‘anxious habit’ becomes the normal setting for the sufferers anxiety levels.

An agoraphobia treatment would need to address this inappropriate subconscious, anxious habit directly in order to destroy the neural pathways of agoraphobic behaviour, to replace them with ‘non-anxious’ neural pathways – the same behaviours you were born with.

But, how can you do this? Is there an agoraphobia treatment that works without medication and psychotherapy?

Medication can never ‘re-set’ an anxiety disorder, how could it? The neural pathways which MUST be addressed in order to do so can’t be accessed by medication. Even if they could, the treatment would be so indirect that other areas of the brain would be affected too – medication cannot selectively erase memory.

So, what about psychotherapy – well, if you wanted to learn to play the piano, would doing a 40 minute session once every week or two with no practice in between work? That wouldn’t provide the part of your brain responsible for learning through repetition with enough repetition for it to ‘hold onto’ that learning.
Even if psychotherapy wasn’t massively counter-productive in content… and it is, it just isn’t enough to render the inappropriate anxious learned behaviours obsolete and replace them with new, non-anxious ones.

The only way to undermine anxiety and provide a targeted agoraphobia treatment that works every single time is to provide a structured, targeted, simple, non-threatening process which quickly removes those anxious neural pathways and replaces them with new, non anxious ones.
